Perentie Tours - Outback Day Tour

Rates from: $220

Your special day begins with a pick up from your preferred location at 7am. We drive though the southern suburbs of Cairns where we turn west and up the picturesque Gillies Highway, climbing to an elevation of 800m (2600ft) in just 19kms (12 miles) via 263 corners with opportunities to stop and admire spectacular views of the Goldsborough Valley. Then, like turning the page of a book, we enter the Tablelands with lush pastoral properties among pockets of rain forest, volcanic lakes and rain forest trees that make the Tablelands such an iconic destination. We drive through the quaint little village of Yungaburra before continuing our journey through the Tablelands, entering the remote areas further west that came about from tin mining in the late 1800's. Towns like Herberton have continued to have solid economic foundations but other examples such as Irvinebank simply refuse to die due to the residents desire to live the simple Outback lifestyle.

Before the completion of our journey we visit the Granite Gorge Wildlife Park where you will have the opportunity to hand feed the Mareeba Rock Wallaby in their natural environment. Your memorable tour arrives back at your hotel at approximately 5.30pm.
